History, Myths and Legends

About the Author

Ricardo Calvario

My name is Ricardo Calvário, I am 48 years old, living in Portugal. I am a writer, both of Fictional Mythology, Cosmology and Consciousness, factual investigative History research papers and articles., I am also an archivist, a teacher and researcher with 30+ years of dedicated investigation. My education started, as many more before me, with religious studies. After several biblical courses, I then initiated myself into other religions, mainly by the study of the Koran, the Shruti, with its four sub chapters called Vedas, and all the less represented and more local beliefs that I could find records of. Inevitably, this course of learning, forced me to study archaeology, and a consequent interest into astronomy. What I had learned, lead me into the universe of mythology. Then dedicating myself to the study of creation myths, global floods and their ensuing magical realms, mythical creatures, gods and goddess, their lives and struggles. History was the logical way to go forward. I needed the background knowledge to place the previously learned subjects into a time, a place and it sociocultural context. From the gods and their dealings with men, to men itself, I learned all that I could about the evolution of humans. Diving into Palaeoanthropology, I found myself in the middle of a long lived battle between creationists, and evolutionists. It was at this point that I realized that it was this forms of absolutism that hinders the very answers they seek. Something now infecting all areas of Science. Philosophy, physics and all its derivatives, were also among my favourite topics. Open minded, always ready to say, I do not know, but keen to learn. Geology and climatology are also among my favourite subjects. Especially palaeoclimatology in relation to ancient catastrophes like the Younger Dryas event.
